Protests

You may "protest" when you think that you've not been treated fairly-or that another competitor has been given an unfair advantage.

Protests are made directly to the Range Officer at the time you become aware of the unfair condition.

If the Range Officer does not resolve the issue to your satisfaction, you may then protest the Match Director.

If he does not resolve the issue to your satisfaction, you may put your protest in writing and send it to the governing body for the match-generally the NRA or USA Shooting.

Some Examples of things you could protest are:
        1. unsatisfactory lighting on your firing point
        2. another competitor is using an illegal piece of equipment
        3. in a prone match, someone steps on your leg, just as you shoot
        4. ect...ect...

 Challenges

You may "challenge" the score on your target.  If you disagree with the score (generally you think it should be higher), you may put a dollar down on the table, and indicate to the scorer which bull you think is incorrect.

AT that point the WHOLE target will be rescored.  This is generally done by a jury of three people-their decision is binding.

Since the whole target is rescored, there's a chance that you might lose points as well as get the point you think is scored wrong.

Anyway, if you were right and your target is corrected, then you get your dollar back.  If you were wrong your score stays the same, then you lose your dollar.
